North American P-51D "Mustang" -represents the fighter escorts of WW II 8th AF.

Boeing (Douglas) B-47E "Stratojet" -represents the B-47s used by the 2nd Bomb Wing and Barksdale AFB in the 1950s to 1963.

Republic F-84 "Thunderstreak" -represents 8th AF's only unit to participate in Korea.

Boeing (Douglas) B-17G "Flying Fortress" -represents 8th AF B-17s in WWII, the type pioneered by the 2nd Bomb Group in the 1930s. B-17s were used to train the 100th BG in 1942 at Barksdale. B-17s were also used in the 1950s for multi engine training.

Consolidated (Ford) B-24J "Liberator" -represents 8th AF B-24s in WWII 44th BG used to activate and train the 90th BG(Pacific) and the 93rd BG. (8th AF and and famous Ploesti oil field raids) at Barksdale AFB in 1942.

Douglas C-47 "Skytrain" -represents WWII 8th AF Cargo Supply mission aircraft. Also used at Barksdale AFB during 1940s to 1960s.

General Dynamics FB-IIIA -represents the last supersonic medium bomber under 8th AF. Retired in the summer of 1991.

Lockheed T-33 "Shooting Star" -represents aircraft used at Barksdale AFB in the late 1950s and early 1960s as site inspection aircraft for the Combat Evaluation Group (CG/CEVG).

Boeing B-29 "Stratofortress"

-represents B-29s flown by the 96th BS, 2nd BG, 8th AF, 1947-1954. Also the type flown at Barksdale AFB 1945-1953.

Boeing KC-97G/L "Stratofreighter" -represents the first purpose built air refueler, previous "Tankers" were converted bombers. Represents 8th AF's 2nd B W KC-97. Type also used at Barksdale AFB from 1953 to 1958.
